1805 Admiral Horation Nelson Dies
During the Battle of Trafalgar, Admiral Horatio Nelson is killed whilst on board HMS Victory.
1966 The Aberfan Disaster
On this day 148 people, mostly children attending school were killed in The Aberfan Disaster that rocked the nation. The school, in the Welsh valleys, was buried under a landslide of mud and waste sludge from the local coal mine when the mound gave way and enveloped the school.
