1919 Dutch Airline KLM Founded
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the national airline of the Netherlands was found and its first flight took place the following year from London Croydon to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Scheduled flights began in 1921. KLM still takes to the skies today and is the oldest airline in existence that still flies under its original name.
2000 England Say Goodbye To Wembley
England played their last match at the old Wembley stadium before it was knocked down in order to build a new national football stadium. The last match played was against West Germany who won by a single goal.
